Hi everyone! Here's the second monthly devlog for Saint Ceri. I don't have nearly as much to say this time :')

Here's what I got done this month:

Art: Lots of small things! I finished cleaning up the sprites, did a little cut-in for the scene at Eira's home and made an alt version of Ceri's bedroom bg with a closed door (a new scene will need some extra privacy ;) )
I also drew Bryn's kiss CG! Like Kyros's it has 3 "beats", which takes ages to draw, but I feel like the kiss CGs are really important and need that amount of effort.
Here are the first two beats; you'll have to wait until the extended demo is released to see the actual kiss ;)


I was hoping to finish Kyros's first NSFW CG but it's still in the early stages. Here's a censored peek at the WIP!



Writing: I wrote SFW alt versions for Bryn's and Kyros's sex scenes! They still convey the relationship dynamics and keep most of the dialogue, but the sex isn't explicitly described.

Scripting/tech stuff: A lot of small important things! I configured bgs, reconfigured the sprites with the new alt arm positions and changed script lines accordingly, added a bunch of new variables the extended demo will need...
I also got a Steamworks account! I'm dreading having to figure out how to make Steam achievements, upload the build on Steam etc but I'm also nervously excited to make my game available to more people.

I didn't do quite as much as I'd hoped and felt disappointed comparing how fast THJ's development went as opposed to Saint Ceri's, but I'm much busier now than I was then. On the bright side, Saint Ceri is a much less complex project than THJ was in terms of branching/variables/plot, so it's manageable at this slower pace. With THJ I had so many branches and variables to juggle that I'd get lost if I didn't work on it for just a day or two :')
 
Next month I'll finish Kyros's NSFW CG, do some fixes to the old and new CGs, and do a lot of boring technical stuff (scripting the new content, adding the setting to allow you to choose between NSFW and SFW mode, figure out Steam stuff...). There isn't a lot left to do for the extended demo to be ready for release. I don't want to give an approximate release date just yet (I imagine the Steam stuff will take way longer than I expect haha), but it's definitely getting closer!
